Second life for an old ship as seastead will not happen

ships are built to move cargo, and they fall apart due to crack development after 15 years of operation on a strikt maintenance shedule or after a few months when this maintenance shedule for some reason stops, due to marine corrosion. The plating of a big ship is only 14mm thick and when the paint is gone it can become even dangerous to scrapp it, because the man who operates the cutting torch can take a 30m fall trough the rotting deck plating. This explains the astonishing economic “old ship for sale prices” – old ships are a “hard to get rid of liability” contaminated with oil slurry in leaking tanks, not a valueable seasteading asset as it may appear …ship operators just love to donate sinking ambient liability problems to enthusiatic seasteaders…no second life for old ships, barges, oilrigs, etc… as seasteads – sorry…
