Interference Freedom Scale 1-10 (for building a Seastead)
I suggest to introduce the business interference freedom scale of 1 to 10
1… a scale one of the interference freedom scale is a place, where you have hundreds of different neighbours and institutions, that all can - and will - interfere with your business.
Imagine a City center, you will have neighborhood initatives that move against your project, city development plans, that will force their vision of development, tax politics, supervision, red tape, on your project. Political parties that cross for political reasons. Several “enforcement buerocrats” all over you. (City counsel, state authorities of all kind, achitecure restrictions, noiserestrictions, labor unions, all wanting to vampire “their share” of your business budget, and redtaping your project for all kind of reasons, doing business there is like walking a barbwired minefield. It is a place where a business man can do “almost nothing” with “almost any amount of money” in almost “no possible setup”.
2 … a marina, where club rules apply, a shipping lane, where marine police patrols.
3 … a waterfront of a condo, where sight can not be disturbed.
4… intermediary, a zone outside cities, and population centers, where marine police patrols “almost never”
5 … a shore zone that has no land access and no interest from a boating community.
6 … shore zone with no interest on it whatsoever, no realtor has it in his catalogue
7 … shore zone where nobody knows who owns it, nobody does any work, nobody visits, not part of a national park.
8 … non popular beach can only be accessed by boat in a 2 hour journey, nobody cares about it, nobody patrols it. No real estate speculation interest.
9 … a low population density area but privatly owned, like a ranch zone in Colombia, where you see a human on the beach maybe once every month or less, doing something - non beach related - like herding cattle with absolute no interest in the waterfront, and less in the water surface in front of it, far from population centers, no boater and yachtie visits whatsoever, no beach parties, no beach grill, outside of the “patroling area” of any “authority”, far from the desk of any buerocratic rule enforcement entity. As it is private nobody has business there, the owner is interested in the cattle land not the shore, not the beach, and lives far from the site - probably in another country. 10 … A scale ten is a place where you can do anything you please, with nobodies law or “development vision”, tax authority, patroling, paper checking, etc… forced on you, following your own vision, your own ethics, your own politics, this kind of space is normally located on some kind of " frontier" like the american settlement outposts in the prairie, internet cyberspace, a ocean colony, or a space colony (in near future).
