Seasteading funding availability

Continuing the discussion from Transform what can be now into what we envision tomorrow seasteading:

maximum available funding, marine investor mood

Last time i checked with Randy there was “167 million USD funds” in a time period of 10 years written in the text of the floating city project. My question if Thiel would come over to Cartagena and start to build what is in the picture above in the bay of Cartagena under the asumption that i can get the following.

– a full autonomy
– a free trade zone status
– indian territory status with different law
– own police
– de facto souvereignity
– special navy protection
– internet banking

Nobody jumped forward to a project start. So i think on the question of Singularity / Evolution we need to go a much more evolutionary way, because the 1,25 M USD for “backing a Singularity” are not doing it for a cruiseship sized venture. This is fine for talking in the media and maintain a payroll talking at conferences – not enough to create a singularity on the water – not even in a bay – much less in the middle of the ocean.

Colombia is the hottest investment spot on the planet, marine business is a major driver, panama canal is in expansion, port was named best of caribbean 6 years in a row and even so – investors are interested but still “bearish” instead of “bullish” in their mood…

This is the investment reality of a marine project pushing seasteading forward…

Given the demografic development - ANY real estate investor should be “interested in investing in seasteading” by now…

The really interesting question is " What are we doing wrong to keep all those naturally interested investors stepping back …"
